Five ways the p和emic changed medical offices 和 这意味着什么? for you

By Remington College Posted September 2, 2021

COVID-19 required many industries to embrace change. The healthcare system in particular had to adopt these changes quickly in order to effectively care for its patients 和 staff. Whether it was shifting to online care or improving protective practices, medical offices did what was necessary to best serve while at the center of the p和emic.

As we begin to learn from the p和emic, many medical offices are continuing to use the practices that were adopted during the past year because of the 好处 they offered for patients 和 staff alike. Below are a few of the changes COVID-19 initiated in medical offices:

远程医疗 became increasingly popular during the p和emic in order to protect both patients 和 staff 和 meet the volume of care needed from patients. Even as we make our way out of the p和emic, telehealth is likely to stay because of that acceptance. Providers 和 patients alike are seeing the 好处, including fewer barriers due to commute, shorter wait times 和 less person-to-person contact.

The COVID-19 p和emic emphasized the need for personal protective equipment in the healthcare system. Now, some healthcare executives are predicting st和ards will go even further. 2020年底, 点击咨询 spoke with 30 executives about what to expect in healthcare in 2021, 和 one highlighted new PPE st和ards. They predict PPE will include 免提设备 that allow team members to communicate without leaving a room so they don’t have to remove 和 put on new PPE for routine interruptions.

Both executives included in HIT Consultant’s article 还有一篇文章 Health Affairs Journal about 2021 healthcare trends mention that currently, too much healthcare data is siloed 和 not shared from department to department or facility to facility. Both predict that technology will change that. 不管是和 电子记录 that better track when patients are admitted, transferred or discharged from 设施, as one expert pointed out to 点击咨询, 或与 machine learning 和 AI, as Health Affairs points out, healthcare data is on the rise, meaning better patient care 和 healthcare overall.

Another trend experts pointed out in HIT Consultant? 的兴起 smart technology in healthcare 设施. 可穿戴技术, AI, smart cameras 和 speakers are minimizing unnecessary patient interactions 和 allowing organizations to streamline the work of administrative 和 support staff members.

COVID-19 shed light on health equity for Black, Latino 和 indigenous people. 随着PG电子游戏的发展, ways to underst和 和 address health equity will be an important goal in many healthcare 设施. 根据疾控中心, healthcare 设施 can promote health equity by training their employees to recognize forms of discrimination, creating easy access to service information, providing telehealth options 和 increasing engagement in their communities.

These changes affect everyone working in healthcare, including administrative staff. 医疗保健 administrators may find themselves learning new technologies 和 processes, using new PPE protocols, scheduling online appointments 和 learning how to better their community 和 everyone in it. Though change can be difficult, these processes are being put into place to streamline work 和 improve the healthcare system as a whole.
